DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT
Human studies for every proposed active. Ingredient research informs our brief; the finished SET PRE formula has not been clinically tested.
THE STRONGEST EVIDENCE IN THE FORMULA
Caffeine has established exercise-performance evidence. A trial in 13 trained men found improvements in several squat power and endurance measures at 3mg/kg. Our proposed 200mg is a fixed amount, so the dose per kilogram will vary.
STUDIED DOSE. MIXED FINDINGS.
In a trial of 33 trained men, 8g daily for six weeks improved upper-body repetitions to failure versus placebo. A separate single-dose 8g trial found no improvement in performance or perceived pump. We’re not calling pump a guarantee.
PROMISING, NOT CONCLUSIVE
A trial in 20 men tested 200mg theanine with 160mg caffeine and found improvements in attention measures. It wasn’t a workout trial or our exact formula. A more recent athlete trial found limited, task-specific effects. No “no-crash” promise here.
FLUID + CONTEXT MATTER
Our target is 300mg elemental sodium in about 500mL water: 600mg/L. A small exercise-rehydration trial found fluid retention increased with sodium concentration. It used larger drinks after dehydration, so it doesn’t prove this PRE improves hydration or performance.
PROPOSED · INCLUSION TBC
A small trial in 60 women aged 40–60 tested 250mg or 500mg daily for 28 days and reported improvements on an attention test. This was not a single-dose workout study. We’re assessing 250mg, subject to Australian ingredient permissions and formulation review; an immediate focus benefit is not established.
KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GETTING
A long label can look impressive. It still needs to tell you how much of each active you’re getting. Here’s what we’re doing differently.

THE LABEL SHOULD TELL YOU
A total blend weight doesn’t tell you the amount of each ingredient. If the individual doses are missing, you can’t compare them with the research.
Undisclosed doesn’t automatically mean underdosed. It means you can’t check. Flavour and mixing ingredients have a purpose too — we’ll disclose those on the final label.
Beta-alanine is a legitimate ingredient, but its endurance benefits depend on repeated use over weeks. A tiny amount added for the label is not the same as a studied daily protocol. We’re leaving it out of our first PRE brief.
Beta-alanine: dose and daily use8g citrulline malate at a 2:1 ratio nominally supplies about 5.3g citrulline. Likewise, 600mg of Alpha-GPC at 50% supplies 300mg active Alpha-GPC. Look at the form and concentration, not just the biggest number.
See an example of a 50% ingredient labelAn ingredient studied in people doesn’t prove every product containing it works. The amount, timing, participants and outcome all matter. Our links include the findings that don’t make an easy sales pitch.

Details as development progressesTHE REASON FOR SET
Some days it's a barbell. Some days it's a run, a circuit, or a bit of everything. SET is being built around that kind of training: purposeful, varied and part of real life.
We're starting with PRE and a straightforward ambition — make sports nutrition easier to understand and easier to take with you.
